Screenprinted Textile Workshop

Wednesday evenings from 6.30-9pm, 26th September -28th November. (no class Oct .24th)

Basic printed textile workshop where you will learn how to dye and screen-print onto silks and linens, mixing both dyes and printing inks.

You will be shown how to work out your ideas on paper before transferring them onto silkscreens using paper stencils, and acetates. Learn how to select a successful colour palette, record your colour mixtures, and steam fix dyes, and discharge inks.

By the end of the course you will be able to design and create your own silk scarf or linen cushion cover.

Some dyes and fabrics are included in cost, while others can be purchased.

Michèle Oberdieck is a contemporary textile and glass designer.

(BA Hons in Printed & Knitted Textiles, Glasgow School of Art, MA Royal College of Art in Ceramics and Glass). She has designed collections for both fashion and interior markets, as well her own label.
